Social Media Issues | Stephanie Allen

***

Hi guys, sorry haven't posted in ages, but had trouble accessing my blog, BUT I'M BACK, aha.

***

Obviously even though I wasn't on my blog, I've been on other social media sites, e.g Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and BBM. Nothing has happened to me on social media- this isn't about that sort of thing- but there are many things wrong the internet. I thought that I'd write a blog about this, therefore if you face social problem issues, or use it a lot, read on. If I'm being honest, I wonder if any of you agree with me, for the following things I'm about to state. Nothing I am about to say are directed to people or things that have happened (cause nothing has), just putting it out there;) This may get deep and cringy, but I give you permission to slap that cheese out of my mouth;)x

A lot of people come across in a specific way through online profiles, yet that's the point I suppose. I don't know if this is the case, but sometimes people that are self-conscious like to show a different side of them self, one that is not them, and makes them feel better about them self. I have nothing against this, but sometimes it is taken the wrong way. Rather than showing a profile that shows their personality, they make up a character. It's like you see them one minute, then when you go and look at recent posts, it's a total different person.

Fair enough, on social media there are a lot of things that a girl (and sometimes boys, but I wouldn't know) have to worry about. Your selfie has to look attractive to people, if you don't get nice comments your not popular, or your not even pretty, if your not popular, no one cares, if no one cares, you start to doubt yourself, and it goes on. Now, none of these facts are true, its definatley not the case that if you don't get nice comments your a failure, it's just how your mind escalates to immediate conclusions. This leads to the reason why people can't post a full face selfie, one with a normal cheesy smile, a no makeup selfie, or one that's not editted. They have to be caked in make-up (again I don't have anything against this), hair done nice, posing at a good angle for it to be up to the online standards. This means that people get judges for this, or being fake. That's the way about it. The thing is, no one intends to be judgmental. Everyone automatically comes to an immediate opinion, whether it's nice or not. It's the people that say it out loud that are being shallow. But if I'm being honest, it's normally the person that posted the picture getting worked up. No one is born to be perfect, as there is no such thing as perfect. Your unique as an individual person, because your different to everyone else, your you're own person.

When people set status's, or the good old Instagram bio, it's going to be taken in so many different ways. There's the people that think their trying to act cool. What a common statement, the popularity suggestion. When the real fact is that like said before, people are tying to give people a much "better" view of them. But it also can have an affect on the reader. I think personally- even though I am guilty of doing it before- to just put friends in a status. As if your not in it, here's what you think: they don't like me, I'm always a backup choice. When your never in a feed, here's what you think: they're embarrassed by me. When like I've said about a trillion times now, this isn't the case. What's that really cringy quote? Oh yeah: "Just because your not in my online status, doesn't mean your not in my heart." Now as cringy as it sounds, it's true in every way.

It's so easy to depress yourself over these things, and get carried away. For example, when you have a small fallout, bam, our straight out of their bio. Which in some weird way makes you feel worst than you should. But there's on simple answer to that, which is the fact that some girls are more bothered about changing/fixing their online lives rather than their real one. Sometimes taking a step back from the internet helps, has hard as it is. This may sound like an exaggeration, but at times it's a place where you can go, and in some way bully yourself.

You need to remember, your mind stretches out a long, far way, to the point where you can't see. Try to focus on your real life, not your online one.

That got quite deep, and different to my normal posts, but I hoped this helped some of you, as it was hard to write and put it into suitable words. I'll see you soon,

Steph;)x

Halloween!! | Stephanie Allen

IT WAS HALLOWEEN ON FRIDAY!!!

As you can see i went as a cat following the steps on my cat tutorial on Youtube, however adding a red lipstick to my bottom lip. Joely (middle) went as a cat as well, and Chloe (right) went as a devil.

We also met up with Ellie (left from center) who went as a cat, and Millie (center) who went as a dead school girl. After going trick or treating, I realised that nearly every girl goes trick treating dressed up as cats, it unbelievable. Haha. By far, this year was by far the best Halloween.

I know this picture isn't the right way round, but it's off my snapchat. Our feet got tired from the walking, so in the middle of the pavement, we just sat down, started eating, and pretending to be camping, ahahaha:D
There was one house that put extra effort in, they turned their garden into a walk through. It had the creepy music, they made a graveyard, things jumped out, and we screamed SO much.
Another house had a man dressed up as as surgeon who chased everyone down the streets, and they didn't even give us sweets i the end. How rude.

I hope you all had a very Happy Halloween, see you soon,

Steph x

Future News! | Stephanie Allen

By Christmas, my Youtube videos will hopefully have a much better quality. Also, I will soon be going on a long holiday, not telling where, but I will be vlogging! I'm going away for 3 weeks with many fun and adventurous activities and trips, therefore I won't have much time to film proper videos (not saying that I won't). The vlogs will come frequently but not every day, but I'm still excited. They will start after Christmas which is just over a month away, and I can't wait :Dxx
